Tuna Fish Tacos: Recipe Sunday
When I first heard of fish tacos, my initial response was “ewww.” But I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Around Easter, Taco John’s had fish tacos and I gave it a shot. I was surprised that they used pieces of fried fish, but then again, “fish” means “fried” to fast food places.
I’ll admit I go through phases of whether or not I find most types of fish appetizing. Aside from tuna that is. Tuna has been my fair companion and constant part of my diet for well over 2 decades.
So I decided to try my hand at fish tacos using my favorite fish of all: tuna. By using canned tuna, this recipe became caveman easy.

There was really no cooking time involved at all for these tuna fish tacos. 30 seconds in the microwave to warm the tortillas and the tuna. Because my guacamole was already made, prep took 5 minutes.
- 1 can tuna

- 2 tortillas
- ¼ c. guacamole
- ¼ c. shredded lettuce
- ¼ c. diced tomato
- 2 Tbsp shredded cheddar.
- Drain tuna and mix in taco seasoning.
- Warm tortillas and tuna in microwave for 30 seconds.
- Layer tuna, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and cheese on tortilla.
